For over a decade the Freedom Jazz Festival has been celebrating the African American invention of Jazz; Africa's gift to America, America's gift to the world.  It has honored the pioneers of the local Twin Cities jazz environment and showcases the thriving talent in Minnesota.  It has provided a stage where all members of the community can be entertained by premiere Blues, Jazz, Gospel, R & B, Soul and World musicians.

It has educated the community about the beauty and depth of jazz with a consistent reminder of its African American origins and experiences.  It has done all this while at the same time providing a fun, family-friendly summer event to the entire Twin Cities metropolitan area and beyond.

It takes place annually against the beautiful lush background of Minnehaha Falls.  Free of charge.

We hope you join us in this musical celebration of art, culture, family and community sharing a bond of togetherness in summertime grooving!

Featuring:

The legendary Morris Wilson, James "Cornbread" Harris, Best Kept Secret, Voice of Culture Drum and Dance, McRae Park Jazz Workshop, Urban Cadence and the Capri Big Band!
